So since its been a little while, I wanted to give you all an update on what’s been going on around the Homestead.
The last few months truly got away from us. Between Holidays and Birthdays and Working Hard on the Farm days the time just slipped our hands.
Hubby and his friends have been hard at work fencing in the garden and keeping the animals in their own space. With their help, great progress has been made.
Even our son has been getting his hands dirty “helping”.
I think the Pigs approve of their new digs. Doesn’t this look like a happy pig?
All the different litters seem to be getting along.
Even the goats, including this beautiful lady, are enjoying the pasture.
I love that our pigs are pasture raised and grass fed and that things are moving along so well we are even getting some other “visitors” on our farm.
One of the dogs got their paws on this Dove, but I was able to stop them from hurting it and Hubby checked to make sure it wasn’t harmed and placed him on a tree branch out of their reach until it gathered it’s composure and flew away.
A few days later, we got a visit from this beautiful specimen. We were told he is either a Hawk or a Juvenile Bald Eagle.
I just thought it was pretty cool to have something so majestic right in our back yard.
Hubby later burst my bubble and informed me it was probably after the newly hatched baby chicks.
… and such is the circle of life.
